Matt Connelly

As the country’s biggest indoor facility, Cranbourne’s Shed Skatepark is run by nothing other than a bunch of legends.

Matt & Pete are just those legends. Today we interview one half - Matt Connelly.

Name ; age ; identification ; location (ASL)?

Matt Connelly ; 24 ; Male ; Melbourne

Sun, Earth or Moon?

Sun & fun.

Why skating / creating The Shed space? What drew you to it?

I’ve been a staff member of the shed skate park for around 8 years now. What initially drew me here was my passion for BMX riding, As I’ve matured and developed what brings me to work is seeing people of all ages developing their riding, reliving a past time or just having fun.

Favourite trick / demo managed to date? Why?

My favourite competition managed by The Shed to date would have to be the 2020 Oceania Street skateboarding competition, this event was used as part of the qualifying for the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games.

If you could manifest anything to exist in the Outer South East, what would it be?

A nice lake to wakeboard in would be nice.

What do you love about the Outer South East?

I am very lucky to be a resident in the City of Casey, we have some world class facilities that are available for everyone to use regardless of your socioeconomic status. The Hill Restaurant Bar & Cafe is probably the fave.
