Sun, Earth or Moon?

I'm going to pick the SUN! What's the earth and the moon without the sun? Everything revolves around it…that’s Boss Queen energy! I also like the duality of the sun, it can warm you or it can burn you and it’s a source of light and THE life source.

Why music? What drew you to it?

What drew me to music is how I am able to communicate my feelings through words with melody. It's like painting a picture with sound that is able to transform someone’s mood, day or perspective. I’ve always loved music and that love was nurtured by my church upbringing and my parents who exposed me to country, gospel, soul, R’n’b etc.. I also believe music runs through my bloodline and I’m the one who carries the mantle for the current generation of my family. Last but not least, it’s a fun creative outlet where I get to let my imagination run wild, create and use my talent/gift which is something not everyone gets the opportunity to do so I feel privileged to be able to do that.

Favourite track created to date and why?

This is such a tough question because I love my different tracks for different reasons but I will say my favourite track would be Extraordinaire. I get emotional whenever I sing that song because it’s a reminder to me and everyone who listens that they are valuable and they have to believe it, speak it and walk in it. I’m basically telling you to be Extraordinary over an afro-dance fusion beat with a bit of trap and salsa and then I end the song with an Opera style finish! I always have it as the last song in my set because after all is said and done, my music is about reminding people who the hell they are.

If you could manifest anything to exist in the Outer South East, what would it be?

I would manifest more community run events, mentorship and music workshop programs. I would love to see communities show up for each other, collaborate and champion some dope festivals.

If you could manifest anything to exist in the Outer South East, what would it be?

It’s the people for me. A place is not a place without the people and what vibe the people bring. I would love to shout out to my hair stylists Soul Sista in Endeavour Hills and For My Sisters in Ferntree Gully. My hair stays looking fly because of them. I will also shout out Surur African Shop in Noble Park, where I get all my hair supplies and they have ALLL the hair products.
